Cutting System Parts
Components that separate the packages — the highest-turnover wear parts on the machine, and the ones where condition shows immediately in cut quality.
Component families
Typical Components
The exact configuration depends on your machine model. Your spare parts documentation — issued per machine — lists the qualified items for your serial number.
| Component | Role in the system | Condition to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Blades / knives | Separate the packages | Edge chips, wear |
| Anvils / counter-blades | Cutting counter-surface | Marks, grooves |
| Blade holders & fixtures | Position and clamp the blade | Fixation torque, debris |
| Timing belts & pulleys (knife drive) | Transmit cutting motion | Belt condition, tension |
| Crank / linkage elements | Convert rotation into knife stroke | Backlash, lubrication per manual |
| Cut monitoring sensors | Verify completed cuts | Alignment, lens cleanliness |
Condition & Replacement
Condition-based — per your machine manual.
- Blade condition is checked whenever cut quality changes — ragged or incomplete cuts are the first signal.
- Blade-to-anvil clearance is verified against the manual's specification before running with a new blade.
- Every blade replacement goes in the maintenance record with running hours.
Technical Note
Replacement criteria are defined per machine in your Path Pack documentation. Cutting symptoms connect directly to these components: see Knife Damage, Cutting Failure and Incorrect Cutting Position.
Identifying a Cutting Part
Blade types differ per cutting principle.
- Machine model and serial number
- Part number, where marked or listed
- Photos of the blade and its holder installed
